Chiropractic Care

Facts about Chiropractic Care

  • Over 4.5 million Canadians seek chiropractic care every year.

  • Findings from an Ontario Ministry of Heath study found that chiropractic care of low back pain is cost effective, is safe and has a high rate of patient satisfaction.

  • The US Agency for Healthcare Policy and Research finds that relief for acute low back pain is most effectively accomplished by spinal manipulation.

  • Chiropractic is recognized as one of the safest treatments available for headache, neck and back pain.

  • According to the Quebec Task Force on Whiplash Associated Disorders, manipulation is recommended for neck pain from whiplash associated disorders.

Is Chiropractic Care for Me?

A sudden injury, or the repetitive stresses of daily living can cause spinal imbalances. These small changes can cause pain and stiffness to the joints, muscles, ligaments and nerves. Treatments can also provide prevention or wellness care, eliminating problems before they become symptomatic. Chiropractic care treats people with many symptoms, including:

  • Headaches, face and jaw pain

  • Concussions and vertigo

  • Neck and back pain and stiffness

  • Shoulder, elbow, wrist and hand pain stiffness

  • Hip, knee, ankle, and foot pain and stiffness

  • Arm and leg pain, numbness and tingling

  • Scoliosis

  • Injuries due to sports, automobile accidents, and work accidents

  • Chronic pain

Chiropractic care is for all ages.

What Can I Expect?

We have an evidenced informed approach to practice and incorporate current knowledge along with clinical experience and patient preferences to find the best solution for each patient’s problems. We assess whole body movement patterns, provide spinal manipulation, do various soft tissue techniques, educate patients about their body, and give the most appropriate exercise and advice to support rehabilitation and to prevent problems from returning. If necessary, specialist referrals or additional tests may be advised.

How Many Visits Will I Need?

The amount of visits for each problem depends on the severity of the injury and the relative condition of each individual. Treatment is usually more frequent in the beginning and decreases as the problem improves. Your condition will be evaluated before each treatment to determine your progress and need for future visits. Treatments may be based on symptom relief or the correction of any imbalances that may lead to future problems. Prevention or wellness care identifies and corrects any imbalances that are present that may cause pain or problems in the future. This may require periodic visits to monitor your health status and frequency varies for each individual. Whether one chooses symptomatic or wellness care depends on each individual’s approach to health.

No wonder that many Canadians have a chiropractor as part of their health care team. Lee Chiropractic Clinic is Your Partner in Health.
