Extended Health Coverage

Many British Columbians enjoy the benefits of extended health care policies through their employer or that they have purchased privately. The majority of these policies integrate coverage for chiropractic care into their plans. If you are interested in learning more about your private health coverage, speak with your human resources representative at work or your benefits provider for more information.

Direct billing is available at our office with Pacific Blue Cross, Green Shield and Telus Health eClaims. We can bill your insurer directly and you will only need to pay your co-pay portion. Additionally, we can submit your claim to your insurer for you if you want to pay us directly at the time of your visit. Some insurers allow us access to predetermine your coverage at each visit.

Medical Services Plan (MSP)

British Columbians who receive MSP Premium Assistance are eligible for coverage of $23 per visit for up to 10 chiropractic visits each calendar year. Consequently, the $23 is deducted from the visit costs at each appointment for you. Premium Assistance is available to families making less than $42,000 per year. Please check gov.bc.ca/premiumassistance for more information.

ICBC

Car accidents are one of the most common causes of spine and spine related conditions. Injuries from a collision often take longer to recover. Even low speed crashes have the potential to cause significant damage to your back and neck and may not show up immediately. Early treatment is advised for optimal recovery. Your chiropractic doctor has the skills to assess and treat these types of injuries. Chiropractic manipulation is one of the recommendations in the current guidelines for treating whiplash disorders.

Effective April 1, 2019, ICBC willl pre-approve up to 25 treatments for the first 12 weeks from the date of the injury, regardless of fault. Additional treatments can be obtained beyond those that have been pre-approved if it is necessary for the patient's rehabilitation and recovery.

WorkSafeBC

Musculoskeletal injuries account for the majority of workers’ compensation claims. Research shows that chiropractors get people back to work sooner than traditional treatment methods and with less chance of relapse.  If you are an injured worker and require chiropractic care, your treatment costs are covered. Simply let us know that you sustained a new injury at work at the time of booking your appointment.

Referrals are not needed to receive chiropractic care for ICBC, WCB, MSP, or Extended Health Plans.
