Custom Foot Orthotics
Your feet have a direct impact on the
rest of your body. When a small problem develops in your feet, a subtle change in
the way you walk will cause a chain reaction of adjustments in your posture and
walking mechanics (gait). These changes can put stress on joints higher up in
the your body, and lead to more serious problems. Properly made orthotics are
custom molded to support the requirements of your feet. They help restore the
normal balance and alignment of your body by gently correcting the foot
biomechanics.
 |
In order to determine the need for orthotics, and create the best possible
ones for you, we utilize a thorough biomechanical assessment along with
pressure mapping technology (GaitScan) to analyze your foot function and
gait. |
 |
GaitScan™ is state of the art computer hardware and software that helps us
assess and analyze your feet. As you walk across the pressure plate,
thousands of tiny sensors capture the distribution of pressure of your foot
over time. |
 |
Video Gait Analysis involves
walking/running on a treadmill while being videotaped. It is used to analyze
the biomechanics of your feet and legs as you walk/run. We are able to
detect any abnormal movement that can cause or will cause problems in the
future. It is also very helpful in assessing the effectiveness of different
shoes, both with and without orthotics. |
 |
We also utilize plaster casting to capture the contours
of the feet. In
casting, the feet are held in a non-weight bearing, neutral position,
generating an optimal mold of the foot in its ideal functional position. |
 |
Combining the 2 dimensional scan, 3 dimensional cast of your foot, and a
thorough biomechanical assessment while standing, walking and/or running, we
are able to produce the best custom orthotic for your needs. |

"I work in construction and am on my feet all day. My
feet used to have this throbbing pain at the end of the day. Now that I have
orthotics in my steel toed boots from Dr. Eugene Lee, the throbbing pain is gone
and my feet feel great."
